3 Specific Purposes of the ROMSEY DEANERY YOUTH MINISTER role

• To meet and befriend young people in every part of life – home, school and church, showing them they are understood, supported and valued.
• To see young people meet Christ and grow in their discipleship, knowledge and experience of Him.
• To equip, enable and resource youth workers to continually meet, reach and support young people within the Romsey Deanery.

VISION The ‘Drop in the ocean’ principle, that my work on my own makes a small difference – like a stone thrown in the ocean. With other people, the splashes and ripples caused are so much more effective. They reach out further, do more and affect more people in this world. This has been shown with so many deanery youth workers and young people contacted and involved in ‘Element’, and those from other denominations and churches further afield. The directory is created by all in essence, just compiled by me and should bring ideas and communities together. The detached work and the Drop In idea are very much evangelizing to those who don’t know Jesus and may be disillusioned by church – they are the ones who need Jesus the most, even if they themselves don’t know it yet. It’s worth the effort, as with each ‘stone’ thrown in the ocean over time – we jump a huge leap from where we started…if we are all willing to make an impact, putting in the effort and time required.
